What is the law in the uk in regards to burning a Koran?

I ask because I thought as long as it was yours and you wasn't on the streets preaching hate then as you own the book that would be your right if you wanted to burn it. Sion Owens a BNP candidate(but thats beside the point) burnt a Koran that he owed in his garden whilst his mate videoed it. The video was leaked onto the net and Mr Owens was arrested for a wait for it.... A.Public order offence?!! He didn't even do it in public! Anyways does anyone know what the law is in regards to burning a Koran?
