Would you support AV if the BNP were made an illegal organisation?

you make a good point but the main problem with AV system of voting is that it gives unfair advantage to those who would have their votes counted again and again in an event of all candidates failing to reach 50% of the total vote required to win. A candidate with the least votes has his or hers vote redistributed to the leading candidate till that 50% is achieved. This makes it unfair for those who voted for the leading candidate because their votes are counted only once others might have theirs counted 3 or 4 times as explained above. So the simple answer is no to AV as its simply undemocratic and may create more "hung" Parliaments in the future. i still don't think first passed the post is the most effective and a better alternative system of voting is needed to give people more influence in outcome of elections.
