Are maxi skirts in style or not?

I am thinking of making a few maxi skirts for the summer whilst I am pregnant so I don't have to wear jeans, I don't feel comfortable wearing skirts whilst pregnant. Plus if I put enough elastic in the waist I could probably wear them after I give birth. I'm tall and it is hard to find long dresses or skirts that are long enough. I thought I would make my daughter some as well as she likes those kinds of things, she loves the maxi dresses she has in her wardrobe and wears them often.
